SAINTS ALL DAT

For all the People who didn't believe in the Saints, for those who thought the experienced Colts would take it... Y'ALL THOUGHT WRONG.
Sunday night, at the Super Bowl, the New Orleans Saints proved everyone wrong when they defeated the Colts 31-17, becoming our new Super Bowl Champions.
In The first quarter of the game, The Saints won the coin toss but things did not look so well for them, as they were down 0-10. "The great" Peyton Manning knew what he was doing, since he's been at the big show before.
In the Second Quarter, the Saints showed they were down but they were not out. Still trailing by 4 at the end but ending the first half with two successful field goal attempts making the game 6-10, with Colts still in the lead.
The Halftime show to me was spectacular as The Who performed.  The legendary English band performed a medley of their hits such as,  "Pinball Wizard", "Baba O'Riley", "Who Are You", "See Me, Feel Me", and my personal favorite, "Won't Get Fooled Again".
The Colts were set to receive the ball until the Saints made an onside kick.  The ball was loose until some of the players dived to recover the ball and when it was all set and done, the Saints Jonathan Casillas recovered the ball at the 42 yard line, causing the Saints to come back into the game with a touchdown with the saints now leading 13-10.  But Peyton and the Colts would respond back with a 58 yd pass and a touch down of  their own making the score 17-13. But to end off the third quarter, Garrett Hartley executing a 47 yard field goal to escalate the score from 17-16, going into the fourth quarter.
In the Forth Quarter, the Colts tried to come back by driving the ball to the 33 yd line, only for Matt Stover to fail to get a 51 field goal attempt to success, turning the ball back over to the Saints. Drew Brees led the team to a touchdown and a challenged, but still successful two point conversion making the score 24-17.  But to me , the most significant play of the Superbowl was when Peyton Manning tried to throw the ball, and was INTERCEPTED by the Saints Tracy Porter at the 26, and ran 74 yards to make this game academic.  The score was 31-17, Saints.  With less than two minutes, the Colts were down by two possessions, Peyton Manning tried to throw the ball to Reggie Wayne at the goal only for the pass to be incomplete, sealing the Saints winning 31-17 and the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history.  And of course the SuperBowl MVP... Drew Brees
With Mardi Gras coming up... It looks like the city of New Orleans has a lot to celebrate for... From the devestation from Hurricane Katrina, to becoming SuperBowl Champions...

Super Bowl Prediction!

Ok, it’s late, but I was on the senior trip. Now, my super bowl prediction is as followed. Saints, 35 Colts 31. Saints look very good and this game feels like a high scoring shootout between Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Feeling the roar of “Who Dat” the Saints have their fans support. The fact is that the Saints defense runs on takeaways and hard hits. The Colts are going to have to protect Peyton Manning from many hard hits. Manning will throw the ball quick and avoid the sack, which leads to how Brees will have to react to Manning playing well under pressure. I do see both Manning and Brees having career games when the spotlight is on. But, can the Colts put pressure on Brees with Dwight Freeney injured or playing injured? Factor in how both teams are heavy reliant on their passing game, the Saints have the edge because Bush can catch the ball effectively out of the back field. This is a game that should go back and forward depending on turnovers and time of possession. If the Colts are controlling the clock it spells doom for the Saints while if the Saints get turnovers and keeping pace the Saints look good to win this game. My Prediction is 35-31 Saints our Super Bowl Champions.

NFL Playoff Update

Jets Vs. Colts

  • Results- Colts defeat Jets 30-17.

  • Key Stats- Manning finished with 377 yards passing and three touchdowns. Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon had 11 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. While another Colts wide receiver Austin Collie had 7 catches, 123 yards and a touchdown. Finally the Jets failed to run the ball well as the ground attack for the Jets only managed 86 yards on 29 attempts.

  • Turning point- The second half was a totally different game as The Colts outscored the Jets 24-0 after trailing 17-6 in the second quarter. The Jets ran out of tricks that got them a 17-6 lead and with the lost of rookie running back Shonn Greene with a rib injury rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez was shut out over the final two quarters. Manning again made history as he became the first player in league history with seven 300-yard postseason games. That broke a tie with Kurt Warner and Joe Montana.
Saints Vs. Vikings

  • Results- Saints defeat Vikings 31-28.

  • Key Stats- The Vikings dominated in every major statistical category, but the Saints kept the game close by forcing six fumbles and two interceptions. Plus, Brett Farve was getting pressured all game and didn't have a very good performance as he only threw for one touchdown and two interceptions. Saints Jonathan Vilma led a defense that hurried Brett Favre all game and forced five turnovers. Vilma had one of the Saints' two interceptions and forced a fumble in the third quarter. Drew Brees was taking care of the football as he didn't turn the ball over and he threw for three touchdowns. Adrian Peterson said it best "We really gave those guys the game." Turnovers will be the death of any team.

  • Turning point: Short and simple it was on the shoulders of Brett Farve and Brett Favre threw an interception with 12 seconds left as they were marching down the field. That let to an overtime where the Saints won the toss and eventually won the game with a 40-yard field goal by Garrett Hartley.

    My Playoff Prediction

Colts Vs. Jets- Colts have the edge for sure in this game and their defense is very under the radar. But, The Colts should have defeated the Jets Week 16 in the regular season. Instead the Colts choose to rest their starters and Jets end up winning that game 29-15. Now the Jets are back and ready to upset the Colts in the playoffs. The key in this game will be can the Jets control the clock and keep Peyton Manning off the field. If the Jets aren't running the ball effectively that means Mark Sanchez has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Peyton Manning who is used to pressure and will be under blitz after blitz, makes me wonder can the Colts general stay cool under fire? Manning will have to show that being a great quarterback also means you know how to manage a game and not turn the ball over to a Jets defense which strives on making a big interception or fumble. In this game... I have the Jets winning 21-20 after all the Jets have won both playoff meetings.

Vikings Vs. Saints- I can't stress this one enough! Adrian Peterson has to run the BALL! Reggie Bush showed he is ready to play as he ran greatly against the Cardinals and I wouldn't be shocked if Bush catches the ball out of the backfield and runs effectively too. But, in the playoffs I look for the defense that is going all out and that has to be the Vikings defense. I think putting aside Farve and Brees, the defense has come up with key stops. So, in a sense Farve and Brees will play well, but if Peterson can explore the field and run well. I got the Vikings defense getting key stops against the Saints and therefore in this game... I have the Vikings winning 28-24.

    NFL Playoffs Update!

    Colts vs. Ravens
    • Results- Colts defeat Ravens 20-3.

    • Key Stats- Manning clutch throws at key times in which he completed 30 of 44 passes for 246 yards sealed the Ravens fate. Manning threw for two touchdowns and one interception as Manning was not perfect, but he got the job done.

    • Turning Point- When Manning threw an interception to Ed Reed and just when you think the Ravens was going to turn things around... Pierre Garcon stripped Ed Reed and Dallas Clark recovered the fumble giving the ball back to Peyton Manning and the Colts.
    Saints Vs. Cardinals
    • Results- Saints defeat Cardinals 45-14.

    • Key Stats- Drew Brees Vs Kurt Warner became a Drew Brees show as he outmatched Warner. Drew Brees threw for 247 Yards and 3 Touchdowns. While Kurt Warner only threw for 205 Yards no touchdowns and 1 Interception.

    • Turning Point- Reggie Bush returned a punt for 83 yards. A touchdown, which effectively broke the Cardinals. Garrett Hartley's extra point gave the Saints a 45-14 lead in the third quarter. Bush also ran well which gave the Saints a balanced attack on offense.
    Jets Vs. Chargers
    • Results- Jets defeat Chargers 17-14.

    • Key Stats- Mark Sanchez threw a go-ahead, 2-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dustin Keller three plays into the fourth quarter. Then Shonn Greene gave the Jets some breathing room with a 53-yard scoring run on their next possession.

    • Turning Point- There's actually two turning points one is Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding, who is the AFC's Pro Bowl kicker, who also missed three field goals. Next Phillip Rivers threw two interceptions, but Rivers' second interception was costly. Rivers under threw Antonio Gates, who did not turn around. With Jets safety Jim Leonhard waiting and intercepting the ball. Leonhard returned it to the 16 yard line.
    Vikings Vs Cowboys
    • Results- Vikings defeat Cowboys 34-3.

    • Key Stats- Minnesota's pressure on Romo, sacking him six times. The barrage of hits had an impact as Romo fumbled three times (losing two fumbles) and Romo threw an interception. Vikings defense harassed Tony Romo and Vikings Quarterback Brett Farve threw for 234 Yards and 4 Touchdowns.

    • Turning Point- Again two turning points in this one. The first turning point was in the second quarter. Offensive tackle for the Cowboys Flozell Adams left the game in the second quarter with a right calf injury and did not return. The second turning point symbolized the beat down Brett Farve and The Vikings were giving. Farve put an exclamation point when his 4th-and-3rd pass from the 11 yard line was caught in the end zone by Visanthe Shiancoe after the 2-minute warning.

    QUEST FOR THE GOLD!!!!

The excitement and energy are building as British Columbia, home of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, prepares to welcome the world! The 2010 Winter Olympics, (officially known as the XXI Olympic Winter Games or the 21st Winter Olympics), will be held on February 12–28, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (considered the most beautiful place on earth!). There are many exciting events that will catch the world’s attention at this year’s games. However, by far the most important event for most Canadians will be Men’s Hockey. Canadians from around the country and world will gravitate like a thousand pounds of steel dropped from the CN Tower in search of a way to watch and cheer on Canada’s Men’s hockey team. I get emotional just thinking about cheering together with my fellow Canadians for our beloved team. I will be leaving NYC on the 12th twenty three days from today on a Laguardia to Vancouver flight!! I might miss the opening ceremonies but there is no way I will miss team Canada’s first game February 16th with my fellow country men watching our beloved game! It brings tears of joy to my eyes just thinking about our quest for gold!! Let the games begin! Go Canada!!!!!!   - Mr. Schumann

So theres rumors going around about Mcgrady going to many teams. But which one is best suited for him thinking about his starting postion & how much money hes gonna make in his contract deal. So apparently Chicago is interested in tmac but what I hear the Rockets are gonna try & acquire Joakim Noah but honestly we all know whats wrongn with that. Noah is way too valiable to the Bulls while Tmac hasnt evem played a full game. The next team that wants him is the Washington Wizards for Caron Butler. Now thats crazy Mcgrady for Butler & in the case where Antwan Jamison might also be traded away to the Cavs. Thats ridiculous if the Wizards make any of those 3 moves. & the next team is the Philadelphia 76ers. Now what do ya think about the combiation of Iguadala & Dalember & Allen Iverson?  Too bad it wont happen because the Rockets want Iguadala & Dalember for Tmac. Now I think the Rockets are trying to steal players like schumann.[ no offense shudogs]. But back to what I was saying no disrespect to Tmac but hes not as valuable anympore to be traded equally for those players a player who is averaging 7.7 minutes a game compared to those other stars from the other teams. What do you guys think?
